2026 fire incidents
October 26, 2026 – Brockton Fire Department
Monday morning around 08:30hrs. Brockton Ma. Fire Dept struck Box 3411 for 303 Spring Street for a reported building fire. Brockton Fire Alarm advised companies that FAO had smoke showing from their windows and they were receiving calls with reported people trapped. Companies arrived to find heavy fire showing from 5 windows on the 1st floor of a large 3 story wood frame with multiple people trapped and (1) occupant who jumped. Car-56 requested a quick 2nd Alarm, and 1st due companies went into rescue mode rescuing (3) occupants (A father, Infant and a 7-month pregnant female) over ground ladders from the 2nd floor with heavy fire conditions from the 1st floor. Multiple ambulances were requested. A member of BFD Ladder-1 declared a May Day from the 2nd floor and was also rescued by fellow members over a ground ladder and was transported to the hospital. Car-55 (COD) requested a 3rd Alarm. Firefighters did an aggressive interior attack using multiple lines. Fire did extend to the 2nd and 3rd floors in the front of the building. Car-55 requested the 4th and 5th Alarms for manpower.
In all, EMS reported (11) people were transported to area hospitals which (3) were firefighters (all reported non-life-threatening injuries). Firefighters had extensive overhaul on all floors of the building.
